A mid-19th century house which retains its external character and is of scenic value, with historic associations with traditional Jersey occupations. Believed to have historic links with the nearby quarry.
In the 1901 census, West View was shown as one of a group of five houses whose occupants were employed as 'seaweed gatherers' - known locally as vraic.
Two-storey, two-bay cottage. Slate pitched roof with corniced rendered gable chimneys. Rubble granite walls with painted pierre-perdu finish. Entrance unusually to rear.
