HMS Dasher

On Sunday 15 April 1838, HMS Dasher arrived on service. She was a 275-ton paddle steamer, built at Chatham especially for the Channel Islands mail run. she had two 50 hp engines and a boiler pressure of 8 lb. HMS Dasher carried mail between the islands and Weymouth for seven years. In 1883 she was transferred to Gorey as a fishery protection vessel until July 1884, being finally sold in 1885.
