Listed building

Important 18th century merchant's house, dated 1704, retaining exterior character. Prominent location overlooking St Aubin's Harbour. Important as part of terrace of similar merchants houses set back along Le Boulevard. Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795. A mahogany open-well staircase survives, but otherwise there are few original features. Reputed to have cellar to left, southeast of front door.

Despite the age and importance of the property, it does not feature in either volume of the work.

In 1964 Ambleve was a guesthouse run by the Reeves family

  1. The original name of the property is not mentioned in the HER entry, but is shown in the Jersey Datestone Register
  2. Neither of these stones is contained in the 903 listed in Old Jersey Houses and only the 1704 stone is included in the Jersey Datestone Register, with no explanation of its meaning
